JUNEAU, Alaska (TND) — A cruise ship worker was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after he attacked three people with a pair of medical scissors aboard the vessel, according to a prosecutor. The U.S. attorney's office on Tuesday identified the man as 35-year-old Ntando Sogoni, 35, of South Africa. A news release noted he was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon within maritime and territorial jurisdiction. According to an affidavit from FBI Special Agent Matthew Judy, Sogoni was recently hired by a cruise line and joined the ship, the Norwegian Encore, in Seattle on Sunday.

PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded veteran defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to the New York Rangers for a fourth round pick in 2027. The 33-year-old signed with Pittsburgh following their Stanley Cup championship run in 2016. In 7+ seasons with the Penguins, Ruhwedel played in over 300 total games, recording 11 goals and 47 total points. Ruhwedel spent four seasons with the Buffalo Sabres prior to his time in Pittsburgh.

(WJAC) — A new report out this week said nearly two million Pennsylvanians would get a total of nearly $22 billion in college debt relief from President Joe Biden’s plan to provide loan forgiveness. "Jobs are increasingly requiring higher education, yet we continue to underfund higher education, and students really are strapped down with incredible amounts of debt," said Diana Polson, Senior Research Analyst for Keystone Research Center and the PA Budget and Policy Center.
PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — According to multiple reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers are releasing veteran wide-receiver Allen Robinson. NFL Insider Adam Schefter says the decision will save Pittsburgh approximately $10 million in cap space. The Steelers traded for Robinson last offseason, adding a veteran presence to the receiver room. Robinson played in all 17 games last season for Pittsburgh, catching 34 passes for 280 total yards but no touchdowns. The 30-year-old wideout previously played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and the LA Rams.
