UPDATE: NORTHERN CAMBRIA, Pa (WJAC) — A Cambria County home is a total loss after a house fire Sunday morning in Susquehanna Township. Hope Fire Company First Assistant Chief Pete Barczak says crews first responded to the home on Sheredy Drive in Susquehanna Township early Sunday morning. He says when they arrived, they found a small fire in the basement wall on the right side of the home. Hours later, crews were called back to the address.
PITTSBURGH -- What is old, is new again at the University of Pittsburgh. The Pitt Panthers' athletic department unveiled its new Pitt script logo Wednesday during a ceremony at the Petersen Events Center. The Pitt script logo was originally introduced by former football coach Johnny Majors in 1973, but it was phased out in 1996. It reappeared in 2014 on Pitt's football helmets and on Wednesday became the primary logo for all of Pitt's athletics teams.
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — UPDATE The Ferguson Township Police Department issued an updated press release Thursday regarding the armed bank robbery that occurred March 23, at 3:48 P.M. Police say the suspect parked a vehicle in a nearby parking lot, rode a black bicycle to the bank to commit the robbery, rode back to his vehicle and placed the bicycle in the rear of the vehicle and fled the scene.
Brookville, PA — Around 3:00 Tuesday morning, firefighters were called to West Taylor Street in Brookville for a fire at the Brookville Hometown Market. Fire crews from Brookville, Pine Crest and Reynoldsville helped battle the blaze and had the fire out by 4:30 this morning with no injuries. “They had gone through the top of the building just making sure that there wasn’t any more issues. Apparently, it was an electrical issue that caused it.
Multiple emergency crews were on scene of a house fire Friday night on Bunker Hill Road in Central City, Somerset County, according to Central City Fire Chief Dale Russian. Russian said the call came in just after 10:30 p.m. and that the home was an unoccupied building with a detached garage that was fully involved when crews arrived on scene. Officials said that the fire rekindled about an hour after being put out the first time, with wind spreading the fire to the garage, and that crews struggled putting out the blaze due to the weather and location of the home.
CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities say a Clearfield County inmate has pleaded guilty for her role in the overdoses of three fellow inmates at the Clearfield County Jail, one of whom died. District attorney Ryan Sayers says Angela Ricketts appeared in court earlier this week where she entered a guilty plea to charges of drug delivery resulting in death and possession with the intent to deliver, among others. Police charged Ricketts last September following an investigation into three women overdosing at the county prison.
BLAIR COUNTY, PA (WJAC) - COVID-19 is pressing pause on production for two Altoona brothers who are creating a short movie about their grandfather's experience in the Battle of Hürtgen Forest. While the pandemic has delayed filming, Mark and Jared Frederick say it cannot stop the sentimental motive behind their creation. The film is a tribute to the Fredericks' Altoona-native grandfather, Thomas Nycum. Nycum served in every major campaign in Western Europe, including D-Day, Hürtgen Forest, Battle of the Bulge, and came home unwounded.

The St. Vincent De Paul soup kitchen in downtown Johnstown has kicked off their second annual friends-day Wednesday fundraiser. The fundraiser is to help support the daily functions of the kitchen and also spread awareness about what the kitchen does.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Zillow Group said Tuesday that it will stop buying and selling homes, citing the "unpredictability" of forecasting housing prices. The Seattle-based real estate information company said winding down its Zillow Offers homebuying and selling unit will take several quarters and will result in about a 25% reduction in the company's workforce, which is now at about 5,300. The announcement comes about two weeks after Zillow said it would pause buying homes through the end of 2021, citing a backlog in renovations and other operations due to labor and supply constraints.
