DUBOIS – The Dubois community came together today for a special ribbon cutting ceremony for the Rose and Dennis Heindl Memorial Field. The field is designed for kids with special needs. The stadium includes turf, solid squares for bases and is wheel chair accessible. The field so special that it brought tears to some people’s eyes. “This just makes his day, he was so excited. They just have a ball. It’s just the best thing for these kids,” mother Amy Wrubel said.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Marcus Taczanowsky was sentenced Tuesday to 39-84 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter and simple assault related charges after the death of Jessie Gordon. The prosecution asked for consecutive sentences. Taczanowsky pleaded guilty in January to multiple charges. He will also have to pay $3,500 in fees. Gordon was found unresponsive in her Westmont home in November 2017. The 34-year old-old was taken to the hospital and remained on life support for about a week before she died.

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County say one person was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon following a train versus passenger vehicle collision. 911 officials say the incident occurred just after 2 p.m. in the area of Krings Street and Eisenhower Blvd. in Richland. According to a witness, the SUV was reportedly stopped on the tracks when it was struck by a CSX freight train. Flaggers were also reportedly nearby, directing traffic, as that intersection has seen a recent increase in traffic due to a local detour.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a possible Walmart theft suspect in State College. Police say on March 15, the woman stole multiple items, including a hover board, from the Benner Pike Walmart store. In surveillance video, the suspect appears to be in her 20s or 30s and is wearing a green shirt, white vest, orange jacket and jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call State College police at 814-234-7150.

LAWRENCE Twp., CLEARFIELD Co.--A new farm store opened its doors in Clearfield Monday. Rural King, the Illinois based farm store, opened it's third in Pennsylvania. A ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday welcomed the new store, located on Plaza Drive, as the newest member of Clearfield's Chamber of Commerce. "It's a big step to have this building that's been vacant for a long period of time to be open and used by all of our community,"

Officials say it's snake season here in west central Pennsylvania and they're warning residents to be on the lookout. According to the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, there are 21 types of snakes living in Pennsylvania. They say three of those species are venomous -- the timber rattlesnake, the eastern copperhead and the eastern massasauga rattlesnake. The timber rattlesnake and the eastern copperhead both live in our region. Snakes like the warmth from sun, but also look for a place to hide.

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Department of Homeland Security and the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office assisted state police with a raid at a home in Gregg Township Thursday morning. Law enforcement agents were seen at the home, located along Route 45, just outside of Spring Mills, around 7 a.m. Authorities have not yet confirmed any details of the investigation or whether or not anyone was taken into custody.
