Cambria County, PA — Residents in our area say neighborhood cat populations are out of control. They say concerns began when they started to see groups of them wandering the streets more frequently. They say a lack of assistance from authorities, plus people allegedly abandoning their animals are to blame. Some residents say because of this, dead felines are being found around the city of Johnstown, in the colder months. One woman says her daughter found a distressed cat just in time.
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — At least 50 vacant structures are coming down this year. They are dangerous eyesores in the Hornerstown, Kernville and Prospect neighborhoods. Allen Hinton has lived in Prospect for just about all of his life. And today brings a glimmer of hope. “I said praise the Lord,” Hinton said. “It's about time.” Run-down box houses in his neighborhood along William Penn Avenue will be no more. “Rodents, people filling them up with trash and stuff,” Hinton explains.
