JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — 911 authorities in Cambria County say three people were transported to Conemaugh Hospital following a single-vehicle rollover crash near the bottom of the Johnstown Inclined Plane Friday afternoon. Officials say crews were dispatched to the crash, in the area of Route 56 and Johns Street, just after 4 p.m. Authorities say all three occupants of the vehicle were transported from the scene. Johnstown Police are investigating the cause of the crash and the severity of any injuries is unknown at this time.
JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — Johnstown's Panera Bread, located in the Richland Town Center, has been cited by a state health inspector for a reported "fly infestation," according to a report on pafoodsafety.gov. SAN ANTONIO (WOAI/KABB) — A Texas man was stung more than 400 times by honey bees. "Bee wranglers" with the American Honey Bee Protection Agency removed and relocated a colony of bees from an abandoned boat in a wooded area in San Antonio on Thursday. Hector Ramirez, a real estate agent, was stung by the bees on May 2 while he and his father were clearing land with a tractor.
BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities in Blair County say a man is facing charges after he was accused of abusing a young child and a dog by throwing said child onto the animal and killing it. Altoona police say officers were dispatched to the Evergreen Manors apartment complex, on the night of May 25th, after a witness reported seeing a man assaulting an 18-month-old child. Police say the witness was reportedly in the parking lot of the apartment complex and was able to see through an open bedroom window where the man was allegedly holding the child and "
Chester County, PA — In a heartbreaking story out of Pennsylvania, a father and his girlfriend are facing charges in connection with the death of his 12-year-old daughter. The Chester County District Attorney announced that Rendell Hoagland and Cindy Warren were arrested on Monday. The couple faces attempted murder and kidnapping charges in the death of Malinda Hoagland, who the DA describes as having endured "evil and torment." Police say on Saturday night, officers responded to a 911 call that the 12-year-old was unresponsive.
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A Somerset County family will soon have access to clean water, after going months without it, thanks to the help of some local companies and a nonprofit whose goal is to provide clean water access across the globe. Officials say in November, the Godin family's water well stopped producing enough water due to drought conditions last summer. The well was also caving in, forcing the Stoystown family of seven to drive about 20 minutes to get water for bathing their children and flushing their toilets.
Jackson Township residents showed up in force Monday evening to the Central Cambria School District board meeting in hopes of saving the Jackson Elementary School. It was recently reported that the school board is moving forward with a feasibility study to determine whether merging its elementary schools into one building would benefit the district.
