(WJAC) — A couple of weeks ago, it looked like turbulent times at the Johnstown Cambria County Airport, after their current carrier SkyWest Airlines told them they wanted to pull out of their Essential Air Service contract in Johnstown and in other places across the country, due to industry-wide pilot shortages. Since then, however, SkyWest and the airport have been working to find a solution to keep SkyWest here.

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — State police in Centre County have filed charges against a Lancaster County man following an investigation into accusations that he inappropriately touched multiple young children. Troopers say a liaison for one area Amish community reported that 31-year-old Gideon Byler, of Gordonville, had been accused of touching several juveniles, ranging from 3 to 10 years of age, within the community. Investigators say the liaison noted that Byler had been sent away to a facility following the accusations.
Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Allegheny Township Police Department say a 66-year-old man was killed Wednesday following a vehicle versus motorcycle crash in Blair County. Investigators say crews were dispatched to the intersection of South Logan Blvd. and Convention Center Blvd., around noon, for a report of a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle. Police say the man was transported to UPMC Altoona where he later died from his injuries sustained in the crash.
SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Crews responded to a massive fire in Salt Lake City, Utah, where two individuals were rescued from the building's second-floor balcony. Salt Lake City Fire Chief Brandt Hancuff said crews were dispatched to a structure fire at 500 East Hollywood Avenue at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday. The first units to arrive found heavy smoke and flames coming from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Wells Ward chapel.

WASHINGTON (7News) — The D.C. Council got a detailed update this past week on which speed cameras in the city are taking the most pictures. The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) said the busiest speed camera in the entire city is located along the northbound Potomac Freeway at 25th Street in Northwest. It also happens to be one of the newest ones. From Oct. 1 through New Year’s Eve of last year, this camera issued 33,682 tickets.
A 5.0-magnitude earthquake centered near one of the world's key oil hubs brought down building facades and shattered windows. The temblor triggered fears that key infrastructure may have been damaged and century-old buildings left unsafe in the latest Oklahoma town rattled by increasingly strong quakes. Cushing Assistant City Manager Jeremy Frazier told a news conference late Sunday that a few minor injuries were reported. He said the damage appeared to be contained to downtown, where piles of debris sat at the base of some commercial buildings.
